Cowgirls Lose a High-Scoring Affair

Cowgirls Trade the Lead with Colorado School of Mines throughout the Game

According to Coach Blue the Cowgirls have to, " Learn how to play with the lead." The Cowgirls displayed that comment on Sunday as they lost 3-4 to Colorado School of Mines.

The Cowgirls took the lead in the 34th minute of the first half with a goal by Monica Vasquez of a nice assist by Heather Henesey. That was Monica's first goal of the season. Then CSM answered back with a goal of their own in the 43rd minute of play. At the half it was tied 1-1.

In the Second Half the Cowgirls took the lead again with a goal by Dana Grey in the 66th minute of the game. Then CSM answered back again with a goal in the 71st minute of the game.

Lativa Harash then hit a perfectly placed shot for a goal off a penalty kick. To make it 3-2 Cowgirls. After that in the 84th minute the Lady Orediggers hit a penalty kick goal of their own, to tie the score 3-3. Then in the final 30 seconds of the game, the Lady Orediggers hit a goal to seal the victory

Lativa Harash had 2 shots, 1 on goal, and had 1 goal. Monica Vasquez had 3 shots, 1 on goal, with 1 goal, and Dana Grey had 2 shots, both on goal, and 1 goal. Heather Henesey had 1 shot, 1 on goal, and 1 assist on Vasquez' goal.

Mckaila Dorman had 7 saves and gave up 4 goals in 90 minutes of play.

The Cowgirls are back in action at Home on Tuesday, 9/11. They will be taking on Wayland Baptist University in a Non-Conference Game @ 3:00pm.
